Department of Homeland Security Headquarters
A|I|DATA was part of the engineering and surveying team that developed the base mapping for the design of the new DHS headquarters on the grounds of the historic St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, DC. The base mapping is a small but important part of the more than $4 billion plan to consolidate many of the scattered facilities of DHS. A|I|DATA researched, investigated, surveyed and mapped subsurface utility systems throughout a significant portion of the 182 acre west campus as well as parts of the east campus. Additional utility designating and test hole excavation have also been conducted to support the design of the access road to the new Coast Guard headquarters that is the first of the DHS agencies to break ground on the campus.
Campus-wide planning efforts are enabled through access to the utility mapping base files together with the full scheme of data sets collected as part of the project mapping efforts.
